The shadows she observed on the lawn inspired her to develop the technique that, however, did not paint the chosen object on canvas. The chosen subject transforms into a representation of the subject. This happens especially with living objects or those that will perish for example, like fruits or human beings. Alexa's style of painting is ephemeral and only the photographs of her work survive. Trompe l'oeil is achieved by combining the two techniques of photographing and painting. The result is two-dimensional flattened image. Meade has integrated her model paintings into the 3-dimensional space around the models. Interaction between them and the created environment is possible. In this way, she has removed the borders between photography, painting and performance.
