Tommy Lee-5-1024x1024Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass October 3 1962 in Athens to David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and Vassiliki Papadimitriou who was who was a contestant in the 1957 Miss Greece beauty pageant (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou). Athena her younger sister is also a drummer. Lee was just two years old when his father accompanied his family to the United States. Lee received his first drum sticks at age four and his first full-size drum set as an teen. He quit high school to pursue the career of a musician starting in the L.A. club band Suite 19. (#5) As a teenager, he listened to Van Halen as well as Led Zeppelin as well as Kiss, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Kiss and Led Zeppelin. His primary drumming influences are John Bonham, Tommy Aldridge, Alex Van Halen and Terry Bozzio
